More like bustling fishing town, in reality. Howth - the name rhymes with "both" - is a darling little fishing town and tourist hotspot only 15-20 minutes north of Dublin. I went this afternoon with Liz. We caught a train up the coast and didn't even need to purchase tickets because a really nice woman gave us a family pass she'd finished using for the day. We didn't get there until about 2-ish, but there was a lovely farmer's market since it was Sunday and Liz bought delicious fudge. We walked around the coastline and ventured into the courthouse which was having a booksale. I got a movie, a comedy in which John Travolta runs for president, which I think is based on the Clintons judging from the posing of the picture on the cover and Emma Thompson's hairdo. That was 3 euro and an Irish comedy book for 5 euro, so not bad.
There were also seals! I know you're excited for these:

| A momma and a baby, or pup as I believe they're called. The momma seal was a snorter. |
And some people shots of Liz and I perched precariously on the edge of a stone wall.
Again, Ireland is unyieldingly windy.
All in all, a very nice day trip. I definitely want to go back and take a walk along some of the paths further up on a hill behind the village.
