Fiona Shaw, Halloween, and other news

I felt it was time for a post that would just be a general update of my life.  Of course it couldn't work out that way, especially since this weekend was Halloween.

To briefly cover the events of the past week, on Thursday I went to see Fiona Shaw give a talk the Players, one of the many societies of which I am a member but with little involvement.  However, the talk was well worth the 2 euro membership fee to the society. Fiona Shaw, who plays Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter films but who also has a very extensive theatre career, is extremely whitty. She's very charming and open and I am just so pumped to see her and Alan Rickman in "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Abbey Theatre on Tuesday.

Thursday night I watched for the first time the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  It was really fun.  It was me with three friends watching it in one of their flats. (Kate, Bridget, and Kate.)

Friday I made snickerdoodles with two of those friends and we watched the Glee version of Rocky Horror. They changed the lyrics to "I'm a sweet transvestite". (Kate and Bridget)

Saturday, we went out for Halloween.  It took me hours to find the pieces for my costume, but I definitely pulled it off.  We had a lot of fun. (I went to a nearby pub with a dance floor with Kate, Bridget, and Caroline.)

Taking full advantage of daylight savings time, I have had a thoroughly unproductive day today.  I never even got dressed.  It's super lame.  Anyway, sometime in the past ten days I bought stamps.  I finally affixed them to postcards today. Sorry it's taken me so long.  So, coming to a mailbox near you:

Classes are going decently.  I really enjoy my Shakespeare class and absolutely abhor my history class, which is a shame.  But what can you do?  Everything else is fine.

That's all.  Happy Halloween everyone!
